January 22, 2023: ’ಮಾಡಿ ಫೆಸ್ತ್’ was celebrated and marked the beginning of the Annual Parish Feast of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva. A flag of Our Lady of Health was raised on this occasion by V. Rev. Fr. Dr. Leslie D’Souza witnessed by the parishioners of Shirva.

November 6, 2022: YCS Diocese Convention was held on Sunday, 06 November 2022 under the name “ZOOM Season 3, Close view of you” at St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle. Shirva unit secured prizes in IAS/IPS Session, Gumta and Skit. YCS Shirva Unit bagged the Overall Championship Trophy.

October 30, 2022: Our Lady of Health Church participated and bagged 3 prizes in the 17^th Diocesan Level Konkani singing competition organised by St John the Evangelist Church, ICYM, Pangla on the occasion of centenary year celebrations. The event was held on Sunday, October 30, 2022.

Our young stars Aurin S Saldhanha (Under 10, Girls Solo Category), Joshua Noronha (Under 15, Boys Solo Category) and Mixed Group (11 to 15, Category) bagged 3rd places in the competition.

October 29 to 31, 2022: Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi arrived at Our Lady of Health Church Shirva for three days Pastoral visit on 29-10-2022. V. Rev. Fr Leslie D’Souza, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Rolwin Aranha, Rev. Fr Nelson Peris, Rev. Fr George Pinto, Asst. Parish Priests and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to him.

After the initial rites, the Bishop visited the cemetery, blessed the newly erected Cross and conducted the prayer service. He also felicitated all the donors who had contributed towards the new structure and the cross at the cemetery.

During this pastoral visit he administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 72 youth of our parish. In his homily he emphasized on the importance of family and the sacrament of confirmation in one’s spiritual growth.

He also made a brief visit to all the institutions and interacted with the staff and students. The three days pastoral visit to our parish was a time of grace and rejuvenation to all of us.

 

October 25, 2022: YCS Shirva Deanery Convention was held at Saude Sabha Bhavan. More than 150 YCS members of our deanery participated in the Convention. Rev. Fr. Herald Pereira and Mr. Leslie Arouza, the resource persons of the programme engaged the youth for half day on issues concerning family and marriage. The convention was inaugurated by V. Rev. Fr. Leslie D’Souza, the dean and the parish priest of Our Lady of Health Church Shirva. Rev. Fr Anil Pinto and the deanery YCS animators were present on this occasion.
