June 8, 2022: V. Rev. Fr. (Dr) Leslie Clifford D’Souza, the new Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health Church was welcomed by the outgoing Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Asst. Parish Priests, Parish Finance Committee members and parishioners at 4.00 pm.

Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa handed over the charge to V. Rev. Fr. (Dr) Leslie Clifford D’Souza during the installation ceremony which was presided by the Bishop’s delegate Rev. Fr. Stany B. Lobo.

This was followed by a short welcome programme. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa welcomed and congratulated V. Rev. Fr. (Dr) Leslie Clifford D’Souza as he took up the new responsibility. On this occasion Fr. Joswey Fernandes, Fr. John Barboza, Fr. Anil D’Souza, Fr. Roque D’Souza, Fr. Louis D’Sa, Fr. Jerald D’Mello, Fr. Steevan Fernandes and Fr. Nelson Peris were present. Fr Rolwin Aranha compered the ceremony and thanked all.

June 5, 2022: Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva parishioners bid fond farewell to outgoing Parish Priest V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa after the thanksgiving mass which was held at 9.30 a.m. Acknowledging the services rendered by Fr. Denis for four years, on behalf of the Parishioners Mrs Leena Machado, the Secretary of Parish Finance Committee read the citation ‘Maanpatr’. As a mark of gratitude, the outgoing parish priest was honoured by all the members of the Parish Finance Committee. On this Occasion the Asst. Parish Priests Fr. Rolwin Aranha and Fr. Nelson Peris were present.

 

 

September 26, 2021: An orientation program on the importance of youth in the parish community and their ministry was organized. Meaningful Eucharist was celebrated by V. Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, Diocese Youth Director and Parist Priest of Mother of Sorrows Church Udupi. Later, Fr. Charles spoke about the challenges of present day youth and how to face them at a program held at Saud Sabha Bhavan. Around 50 vibrant youth took part in this orientation program actively.

September 19, 2021: On the occasion of the Amoris Laetitia Family year, the Girl Child Sunday was celebrated at Our Lady of Health Church Shirva. Fr. Denis D’Sa celebrated the Holy Eucharist and preached homily on the day’s readings as well as the role of a girl child in the family. It was followed by a talk on Health and Hygiene by Dr. Mrs. Leena Sequeira, Principal, School of Nursing Manipal. Around 75 girls from the age group of 12 – 18 years. Rev. Fr. Nelson Peris, Rev. Fr. Rolwin Aranha, Mrs. Maria Jacintha Mathias were present on the occasion.
