August 4, 2019: Our Lady of Health Church Shirva celebrated St. Christopher’s Feast. On this occasion, all the vehicles of the parishioners were blessed by the Parish Priests as St Christopher is widely venerated as the patron of travellers. This event was organised by the unit of Catholic Sabha, Shirva Parish. Mr. Abdul Kadhar, Police Sub Inspector, Shirva Police Station was the chief guest. He addressed the gathering and created an awareness on the new traffic rules to be followed by everyone. Lucky coupon draw was also organised during this occasion. Mr. Gilbert Pinto compered the program and Mr. Melwyn Aranha conducted the lucky coupon draw. V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa performed the prayer service and Assistant Parish Priests joined along with him. Soon after morning mass, this program was conducted and sweets were distributed which was sponsored by Mr. Peter Corda.

July 28, 2019: Yuva Sangam 2019 was organised by Shirva Deanery at Saud Sabha Bhavan, Shirva. The programme was inagurated by lighting the lamp. Rev. Fr. Harold Pereira (Secretary, Small Christian Communities Udupi Diocese) was the chief guest. Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza (Director, Youth Commission Udupi Diocese), Rev. Fr. Vishal Lobo (Director, ICYM Shirva Deanery), V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa (Director, ICYM Shirva Unit), Mr. Jackson Cabral (President, ICYM Shirva Deanery), Jenica D’Almedia (Vice President, ICYM Shirva Deanery) were present during this occasion. The importance of Small Christian Communities was presented by Fr. Harold Perira. The Cultural programme was organised after lunch. Jackson Cabral welcomed the gathering and Reshma D’Souza proposed the formal vote of thanks.

July 7, 2019 : Catholic Sabha Shirva Unit had organized the distribution of Pratibha Puraskar to the students who had secured first rank in 7th std and 10th std catechism examination, first place in 10th std and 12th std science and commerce. V. Rev. Fr. Denis Dsa, Catholic Sabah members, students and their parents were present on this occasion. V. Rev. Fr. Denis Dsa distributed the prizes and congratulated the students.

‘He who plants kindness, gathers love’

One tree planted , is a life given. Catholic Sabha, ICYM & YCS shirva along with the parishioners celebrated van mahotsav and organised plant distribution drive on 30th June, 2019.
Owning to the importance of ‘laudato si’ , van mahotsav was celebrated by understanding the duties of an individual towards our mother earth and distribution of wide range of flora and fauna. Followed by planting of saplings by the youth of YCS & ICYM.

June 30, 2019: Oath taking of the new YCS office bearers was held at Our Lady of Health Church Shirva. Also receiving of the new members for the YCS of Shirva unit. This ceremony was conducted during the first mass. V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’sa conducted the oath taking ceremony . Fr. Mahesh D’Souza, the animators of YCS Fr. Ashwin Aranha, Sr. Kavita, Mrs Jacintha Castelino and Mrs Maria Mathias were present on this occasion.
