On account of Cloud Literacy Day, a Cloud Literacy Awareness Programme was organised to St. Mary’s College BCA students, who were trained for 8 hours by Amazon India professionals at the College on 25th October, 2018.

Our Lady of Health Church Shirva under the Commission for Education organised a Faculty Development Programme to the Staffs of St. Mary’s College Shirva in the college auditorium on 23rd October, 2018.

 

On 7th October 2018, The feast of St. Francis of Assisi was celebrated at Our Lady of Health Church Shirva in a very humble way. Saturday 6th October evening mass and Sunday 7th October  mass liturgy was conducted by the brothers and sisters of ‘Secular Fransiscan Order’ <OFS-ORDO FRANCISCAN SAECULARS>

After the Sunday Holy Mass, a get together programme was arranged in Don Bosco Audio Visual Hall. Rev. Fr. Ashwin Aranha, Mr. Melwyn Aranha were the chief guest. OFS President  Mrs Irene Ida Lobo, Vice President Irwin D’Souza, Secretary Jerald Rodrigues, Training instructor Mrs Irene Lasrado and our parish council secretary Mrs Leena Machado were present on the dias along with out chief guest. OFS President welcomed the gathering, secretary Mr Jerald Rodrigues read the annual report stating mission of the order, its activities, agenda, strength of members and way of conducting atov (prayer meeting). Fr. Ashwin Aranha and Melwyn Aranha wished President and members a blessed feast and shared their valuable views. Mr Jerald Rodrigues proposed the vote of Thanks.

It was a glorious day indeed on the 14th of October, 2018 as Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva celebrated the most awaited day – The Bible Day. The religious, priests as well as the parishioners invoked the prsence of Godand spiritually participated in the Holy Eucharist. Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony Pinto was the main celebrant for the mass. He gave a powerful sermon on the importance of love for humanity while depicted the commandment given by Jesus Christ to us – Love One Another, just as I have loved you. After the mass Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony Pinto explained the importance of bible in our daily life. A quiz was conducted for the students from Class 1 to Class 10. The morning session ended with the distribution of prizes to the winners in the quiz competition.

Our Lad of Health Church under Commission for Bible of Shirva Deanery organized Holy Bible Quiz Competiton on 14-10-2018 at Don Bosco English Medium Auditorium. Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony George Pinto was the Guest of Honour. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa (Parish Priest, Shirva), Rev. Fr. Ashwin Aranha (Asst. Parish Priest, Shirva), Fr. Mahesh D’Souza (Asst. Parish Priest, Shirva), Rev. Fr. Kiran Nazareth (Rector, Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shirva), Mr. WIlson D’Souza, Mrs. Leena Machado & Mr. Joseph Castelino were present during the inauguration. 11 parishes from Shirva Deanery participated in this competiton. Fr. Kiran Nazareth was the Quiz Master supported by his team.
