Altar Servers Day

Alter Servers Day was celebrated on 12th August, 2018 during 2nd Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva which was followed by oath taking ceremony. V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa was the main celebrant. Further the celebration was continued in Audio Visual Hall of Don Bosco English Medium School with action songs by Miss Viola, biblical quiz by Miss Vanissa, Entertainment programme by Mr. Shaun and Miss Susan, biblical names were narrated in the form of story by Miss Joylin. Outdoor games were conducted by Fr. Ashwin. Altogether 61 alter servers participated in this event.

Aptitude Test

An Aptitude Test was conducted on Sunday August 5th, 2018 at DonBosco English Medium School for 10th Standard Students. 63 students from 6 parishes had participated in this test. It started at 9:30 AM and went till 12:30 PM. This test was supervised by Mr. Ronald Moras, Mr. Julian Rodrigues, Sr. Hilda and Ms. Jane Mendonca.

Blessing of Vehicles

Catholic Sabha Shirva on the occassion of the fest of their patron St. Christhopher, organized blessings of vehicles to the parishioners of Shirva on Sunday, 06-08-2018 after morning mass. Rev. Fr. Ashwin Aranha performed the blessing ceremony along with V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa and Rev. Fr. Mahesh D’Souza. Sweets were distributed by the members of the Catholic Sabha after mass and lucky draw was organized, where many parishioners won free fuel.

Cross Welcoming

To achieve peace and harmony in India and also to pray for the next elections the cross is been circulated throughout India. The cross is circulated to all the dioceses of India. The cross was handed over to V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health Church Shirva at 4.15 pm by Rev. Fr. Paul Rego, Parish Priest, Holy Cross Church, Pamboor on 06-08-2018. After the cross was taken, there was prayer of Jericho and Mass. The cross will be there in Shirva church for 3 days. There will be adoration, prayer during these 3 days. On Thursday 9th August, the cross will be handed over to Pernal Parish.
