Our Lady of Health Church Shirva in association with YCS Shirva Deanery organized ‘YUVASAMGAM – 2018’ for all the YCS members at Saudh Sabha Bhavan on September 2, 2018. Mr Derick Mascarenhas was the resource person who delivered a talk on ‘Education and Career’. After this talk, cultural programme was arranged. Nearly 150 YCS members from Shirva Deanery participated in this programme. Meanwhile Rev. Fr. Paul Rego (Parish Priest Pamboor Parish & Former Director of YCS Shirva Deanery) was honoured for his service as Director of YCS Shirva Deanery for 5 years. Currently Rev. Fr. Kiran Nazareth is the Director of YCS Shirva Deanery. Fr. Ashwin Aranha (Asst. Parish Priest Shirva), Ms. Jane Mendonca (Animator of YCS Shirva) and office bearers of Udupi Diocese and Shirva Deanery were present during this programme.

Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary preparation have begun in the form of Novena from 30th August, 2018 at Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva.

ICYM Shirva under Our Lady of Health Church Shirva organized fun games to all the parishioners of Shirva on 26-08-2018 from 2:30 PM on behalf of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary at Church premises. Many parishioners participated in these games and won several prizes. Commission for Liturgy also organised Food Stalls were varieties of snacks were served to the parishioners for a very reasonable cost with a purpose of collecting amount to the needy.

A half day Workshop on Liturgical Singing was organised by Shirva Parish on 26-08-2018 from 9:00 AM till 12:30 PM. Rev. Fr. Dr. Ronald Serrao, Prof. St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore was the resource person. He explained how important in Liturgical Singing and presented systematic steps to conduct it. A total of 46 participants including Pernal and Palimar Parish Choir group. V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Rev. Fr. Mahesh D’Souza, Rev. Fr. Ashwin Aranha, Mr. Wilson D’Souza were present during this workshop. The Animator of Commission for Liturgy Mrs. Diana Saldanha welcomed the gathering and Secretary Mrs. Leena D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.

Our Lady of Health Church Shirva and Catholic Sabha Shirva Varado helped the flood affected people in Kerala by sending fully loaded flood relief materials on 24 -8-2018 from Shirva. Rev Fr. Denis Dsa and Fr. Ashwin Arahna and Catholic Sabha members were present. Fr. Ashwin Arahna prayed along with the catholic sabha members for the flood affected people.
