The elocution Competition was held on 22nd August by Catholic Sabah Shirva. The competition had begun at 10:00 a.m. Our parish priest Rev. Fr. Denis D’sa , Assistant parish priest Fr. Ashwin Aranha , Shirva Deanery President of Catholic Sabah Mrs. Maria Jecintha Mathias and all the members of Catholic Sabha Shirva unit were present. Fr. Ashwin Aranha distributed the prizes to the winners of the competition and addressed the gathering.

Commission for Laity under Our Lady of Health Church Shirva organized ward representative training on 19-08-2018 from 9:30 AM till 12:30 PM in Don Bosco CBSE Audio Visual Hall. Ward representatives from Shirva, Pilar and Pernal parish attended this programme. Most Rev. Dr. Jerald Issac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese carried out the training session to all the gathered members. V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa were also present during this programme. Mrs. Lorita D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Bishop elaborated the responsibilities of Ward representatives. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Melwyn D’Souza and Mrs. Nancy Machado was the host for the programme.

Commission for Justice and Peace under Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva organised Senior Citizen card registration programme in Don Bosco CBSE School on 19-08-2018. The programme was inagurated by the Bishop of Udupi Diocese Most Rev. Dr. Jearld Issac Lobo. A member of Hiriya Nagarika Vedike (Senior Citizen Club) Udupi , Mr. P. Narayana Rao, Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Mr. Wilson Rodrigues (Zilla Panchayath Member and Coordinator of Commission for Justice and Peace), Mrs Leena Machado (Secretary of Shirva Parish Council), Mrs Lorita D’Souza (Coordinator of Commission for Justice and Peace) were present during this program. Mr. Melwyn Aranha (18 Commission Coordinator) welcomed the gathering and Mr. Alwyn Ferrao proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Maria Jacintha compered the inaugural function.

Environment protection day and distribution of saplings to the Students of St Mary’s and Don Bosco Institutions in CBSE School auditorium on 16 August 2018 at 3 pm. 2500 saplings were distributed to the Students. The programme was jointly organised by Lions CLub District 317C, District Administration Udupi, Diocese of Udupi.
