Cross Welcoming

To achieve peace and harmony in India and also to pray for the next elections the cross is been circulated throughout India. The cross is circulated to all the dioceses of India. The cross was handed over to V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health Church Shirva at 4.15 pm by Rev. Fr. Paul Rego, Parish Priest, Holy Cross Church, Pamboor on 06-08-2018. After the cross was taken, there was prayer of Jericho and Mass. The cross will be there in Shirva church for 3 days. There will be adoration, prayer during these 3 days. On Thursday 9th August, the cross will be handed over to Pernal Parish.

Importance of Aptitude Test For Students & Parents

Importance of Aptitude Test For Students & Parents was conducted by Education and Youth Commission on 15th July 2018 for the 10th std students soon after the first mass. The programme started at 8:30am with a prayer song and Ms. Jane Mendonca, the Director of Youth Commission welcomed the gathering.

The Director of the Education commission Mr. Ronald Moras told the students about the importance and benefits of the aptitude test. He even told that ‘Supatha’ -the aptitude test from Udupi diocese  will be conducted on 5th August in Belman as well as Udupi.

He appreciated the efforts put forth by Rev. Fr. Edwin D’souza, the director of this commission at diocese in encouraging the youths to achieve their goals.

Parish priest Rev. Fr. Denis D’sa wished students all the best for their future. Supatha co-ordinator and member of education commission Mr. Julian Rodrigues collected the names of the interested students.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Communion

A training programme was held on 15th July at Our Lady of Health Church Shirva from 2.30 – 5.00 pm. A yearly gathering of the extraordinary ministers of the holy communion of the Shirva Deanery. Rev. Fr. Steevan D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Wilson D’Souza were present to deliver their talks.  Adoration, Reconciliation, and Ecclesial Teachings of Pope were the main events of the programme. 120 extraordinary ministers of the holy communion were present for the programme. Liturgy Commission organized this programme.

Proximate Preparation For Marriage

Proximate Preparation For Marriage was conducted on 8th July 2018 in Don Bosco Eng Med School A.V room after the first mass. 116 youths had attended this programme. Parish Priest and Director of ICYM Rev. Fr. Denis D’sa welcomed the gathering and the resource persons.

Rev. Fr. Chethan Lobo was the resouce person for first session which started at 9:00am. He listed the rules and regulations for marriage according to the church and also told about the impediments to marriage.

Second session started at 10:45 am presented by Mrs. Hilda. The session was about love and friendship which was an interactive session.

Third session was a post lunch started at 1:45pm. Mr. Leslie Arouza was the resource person. He explained what marriage really is, what are the duties of individuals towards marriage and how can a person make marriage life beautiful.

The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Rev. Fr. Denis D’sa and wished youths a better future life.

Training Programme for Lectors

Commission for Liturgy of OUR LADY OF HEALTH CHURCH, Shirva organized a training programme for Lectors on 8th July 2018 from 3pm to 5pm at DON BOSCO CBSE School Shirva. President of Commission for Liturgy Mrs. Diana Saldanha welcomed the gathering.  155 representatives from 32 wards attended this program. Assistant Director of DIVYA JYOTHI of Udupi Diocese and Parish Priest of Kuntalnagar Rev. Fr. Wilson D’souza was the resource person. V. Rev. Fr.Denis D’sa introduced the resource person to the gathering. He elaborated the changes that have been taken place in the liturgy during mass. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Leena D’souza, Secretary of Shirva Parish Pastoral Council.
