St. John’s Evangelist Church, Pangla in association with ICYM Pangla organised the 15th Diocese Level Singing Competition on 28th October, 2018 at St. John’s Sabha Bhawan. Shirva parish bagged 4 prizes under different categories. V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa (Parish Priest, Shirva) was the chief guest for the valedictory programme who presented his point of view about the participation, attitude and humbleness of a participant. Ms. Ashni Siyona Saldanhna bagged 2nd place in under 10 solo girls, 2nd place in under 15 mixed group, Mr. Manoj D’Souza bagged 2nd place in above 15 men solo and 3rd place in above 15 mixed group. Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi bagged the Overall Championship followed by Mount Rosary Church, Kallianpur (First Runners-up) and   Holy Cross Church, Byndoor (Second Runners-up). More than 700 participants participated in this competition. The list of results are as follows:

Our Lady of Health Church Shirva had organized Small Christian Community (SCC) Animators Training on 29th October, 2018 at Don Bosco Audio Visual Hall. The animators were trained on the recent developments in the prayer meeting by Rev. Fr. Harry Pereira, Diocesan Director for SCC. He also entertained the gathering with an action song. More than 100 animators had participated in this training programme from Shirva Parish.

Our Lady of Health Church Shirva organised a Mega Auction during the occasion of Mission Sunday on 21st October, 2018. The auction took place on two days. Saturday after mass as well on sunday. Many parishioners participated in this auction. Moreover special arrangements were made for breakfast to the parishioners and other eatables during the auction. The programme was conducted by V. Rev. Fr. Denis D’sa (Parish Priest) and supported by Mr. Grynal D’Mello along with Mr. Wilson D’Souza (Vice President, Shirva Parish Pastoral Council), Mrs. Leena Machado (Secretary, Shirva Parish Pastoral Council), Mr. Melwyn Aranha (18 Commission Coordinator), Asst. Parish Priests and other parish pastoral council members.

The department of Master of Social Work (MSW) of St. Mary’s College Shirva organized a Street Play on Road Safety in front of Shirva Grama Panchayat office on 26th October, 2018.

Free Health Check up was organized by MSW Department of St. Mary’s College, Shirva in association with Community Health Centre, Shirva to the residers of Jeevan Asha Old Age Home on 26th October, 2018.
