July 28, 2024: Shirva Parish celebrated Grandparents and Elderly Day, an event organized by the Commission for Family to honor and appreciate the senior members of the community. The occasion featured a special prayer service dedicated to the elders, recognizing their invaluable contributions and lifelong wisdom.
In a gesture of gratitude, YCS members distributed hand towels to all attendees aged 65 and above after each Mass. This thoughtful token was a symbol of the parish’s appreciation and respect for the elder generation.
The event was well-attended, with nearly 267 elderly individuals and grandparents participating. Their presence added a heartfelt and nostalgic atmosphere to the celebration, reinforcing the community’s commitment to honoring and valuing its senior members. The initiative was warmly received, highlighting the importance of such occasions in fostering unity and respect within the parish.
